The 'Habanero Tropical' chilli pepper is a habanero type with large, shiny, red fruits that are hot and aromatic. Very good to dry and use as powder or flakes in spicy dishes. Popular in Caribbean cuisine. Fruits are about 4-6 cm long. Spiciness: 250 000-300 000 Scoville.

Sow indoors from January to March at 20-25°C. Keep the soil moist until the plants have established. Use a transparent lid with ventilation holes. Place in a bright and slightly cooler location after germination. Harden off and plant out in a greenhouse or a warm outdoor spot once the risk of frost has passed. Like all habaneros, it requires plenty of sun and warmth.
