A History of Innovation

The history of Zetas dates back to 1927, when Gösta Zetterqvist set up a small flower stall on the grounds of his summer cottage. The name "Zetas" comes from his surname, Zetterqvist. Today, Gösta Zetterqvist is remembered as a legend in the gardening industry.

In 1973, Folke Mattsson joined the business. With extensive horticultural training from Åbo and Alnarp, he and his wife Gunborg Mattsson took over Zetas in 1975, launching an exciting phase of growth. Under Folke’s leadership, thousands of new plant varieties were introduced to Sweden.

Their daughter Victoria gradually became more involved, and her passion for gardening deepened. In 1997, Victoria and her then-husband Rikard Skoglund took over Zetas. Zetas began sourcing plants from around the world for trial cultivation, contributing to an ever-growing plant collection. Today, under Victoria's ownership, Zetas continues to lead the way in plant knowledge and gardening expertise.
