Pea 'Golden Sweet' is an interesting Indian heirloom variety from 1860. A tall "mangetout" variety that produces golden yellow pods that are crisp and sweet, making a great addition to salads and stir-fries. The purple flowers are edible and beautiful as decoration.
Seed quantity: Approximately 20 per packet.
Sowing time: April–June.
Seed depth: 0-0.5 cm.
Location: Sunny.
Height: Approx. 60-70 cm.
Color: Yellow.
Germination time: 14-28 days.
Planting distance: 50 cm.
Harvest time: July–October.
Plant type: Annual.
Sow directly outdoors once the soil has settled. Prepare and water the soil before sowing, keeping it moist during germination. Harvest before the seeds are fully developed for fresh consumption of the pods. Later, peas can be dried and stored or eaten fresh. The plant requires support. Can be sown multiple times until midsummer for an extended harvest.
