Radicchio 'Rosa Del Veneto 'Passerina', also known as chicory lettuce, is excellent for harvesting in late autumn. It has a slightly bitter flavor that provides a nice contrast in salads. This stunningly beautiful variety will develop a lovely antique pink color that is worth waiting for.

Alternatively, sow indoors in April-May and transplant when the risk of frost has passed. Cover with a bucket or black cloth two weeks before harvest for a milder taste.
