- CARE GUIDE
Radicchio 'Grumolo Rosso', also known as chicory lettuce, is a northern Italian speciality with a slightly bitter taste that is ideal for harvesting in late autumn. This beautiful deep red variety with rounded heads is good to eat both fresh and cooked. Best flavour requires a cool period and a forcing process.

Sowing time: April-July.
Sowing depth: 1 cm.
Location: Sun-half shade.
Colour: Red.
Growing time: 7-14 days.
Development time: 90 days.

Cover with a bucket two weeks before harvest for a milder taste. Forcing in late autumn: Dig up, remove most of the leaves, and shorten the roots. Store in a dark, cool, frost-free place. To start growth, plant in moist soil and place at 15-20°C (still dark). New pale leaves will grow within a few weeks.
