Opium poppy 'Lauren's Grape' has single, bowl-shaped flowers in plum colour with five distinct eyes at the bottom. It's a beauty that stands out in the border, swaying on its tall stems that can actually grow to a full metre when it thrives. Leave the beautiful seed pods that come after flowering. They can be a decorative feature in the garden during the winter, but they are also beautiful in bouquets, both with fresh and other dried flowers.

It can also be sown in the autumn for earlier blooming. Leave seed pods on the plants for self-seeding or save them indoors to sow next year. Prefers well-drained soil.
