Lampshade 'Maipai'

Lampshade 'Maipai' from Mimou takes advantage of traditional manufacturing techniques and works with skilled craftsmen in small-scale production. It combines delicate bamboo paper in papier-mâché technique with a bamboo frame. The design is simple and unpretentious. Depending on how the two bamboo sticks are mounted in the frame, Maipai can be used as both a pendant light and a lampshade for any lamp base. 'Maipai', meaning bamboo in Thai, is entirely handmade from bamboo.

Ceiling Mount:
Thread your desired cord with a lamp holder through the bamboo sticks. Insert the bamboo pins in a cross and fasten with string around the cord. The placement of the string determines how far down the lamp holder will hang in the shade.

Lamp Base:
Insert the bamboo pins straight. Then screw the shade onto the lamp holder of your preferred lamp base.
