Allium 'Mount Everest'
- Description
- CARE GUIDE
A prize-winning ornamental onion with 15 cm large globes in bright white on sturdy flower stems. It blooms in June-July and reaches a height of 90 cm. Planting depth should be three times the size of the bulb.
"The flowers and stems are very sturdy and durable, making them perfect as cut flowers. I often place them in the large old pot on our garden table. Since allium tends to have unsightly foliage that yellows and withers when it blooms, I recommend planting the bulbs among other perennial plants that can cover them, such as lamb's ears, wormwood, or lady's mantle. An added bonus is that it is deer-resistant!" / Victoria Skoglund
Bulb size: 24/+
Contains 1 bulb.
Allium should be planted early in autumn in a sunny position with well-drained and slightly moist soil approx. 15 cm below the ground. During the growing season, keep the soil evenly moist. Clear the area of weeds and debris before planting. Improve the soil by adding compost or manure. This will improve the soil's nutrient content and drainage. When the foliage sticks up in the spring, it is good to sprinkle on some of Zeta's onion fertilizer as extra nutrition.
